Totally awesome

Look:

Man, as creator.

Best burger...ever.

I realize this is beginning to look like a restaurant blog, but I had the best burger of my life on Tuesday and want to share the secret. It was a Wagyu beef burger with bacon from Quinn's.

The Wagyu (just like Kobe) beef was the juiciest I have had. The fries were excellent as well. All washed down with a couple of Pilsner Urquells, this is the bar-food meal to beat.

Also, I had wild boar for the first time at Opal last Saturday. More like beef than pork, I would recommend it. With it I drank the Cotes du Rhone they had on the menu - it was a decent wine but I wouldn't go so far as to suggest it.

This weekend I have no specific culinary plans. Maybe I will have something else to talk about. Closing on my condo on Monday (finally, maybe).

Cremant

Had dinner at Cremant last night - one of my favorite French restaurants. The food is amazing (a great value for a restaurant of its quality, too) and the space has many cool design elements - not the least of which are the faux-dimensions of the front door (look closely).

Must Have

Thanks to Nate Sabari for turning me onto these. They burn on denatured alcohol and require no ventilation. I must have one.

Second Look

Went to take a second look at my condo unit, hoping I would get some indication about whether it would be finished on time. The unit itself is almost complete so whether or not my closing occurs on time is dependent on whether they can get an occupancy permit for the building as a whole, which is largely less complete than my unit.

The good news is, rates have dropped and I think I will end up with an interest rate around 5.75%.

NYE 2007

If what they say is true, that the way you begin the new year is the way your year will be, then it is going to be another very good year indeed. Dinner was at Beato in West Seattle. We warmed up with some bottles of Torii Mor at my house.
